CAMPAGNA AMICA     (FRIENDLY COUNTRYSIDE)

Campagna Amica is a strategy adopted by Coldiretti at the end of the year 2000, with the goal of establishing new alliances with the consumers and public opinion, through a pact stipulated with the citizenry  that underlines the organization’s  commitment.  

One of the most pressing goals of Campagna Amica is to guarantee that all food products can be traced back to their origin throughout the production cycle; therefore, including the operations of processing, transformation, and packaging, until the moment that a product finally reaches the user.  This is all performed with the objective of regenerating agriculture, seen as a productive force which respects the environment and the well-being of citizens.

Campagna Amica is an extensive and articulated program in which all the initiatives of Coldiretti coincide in order to promote, protect, and praise the quality of “typical” local production and the close relationship it has with local history, culture and traditions. 

·            Development of farm tourism         

·            System of direct sales from producer to consumer               

·            Setting up of educational farms     

·            Nutrition education in schools       

·            Demonstrations at trade fairs        

·            Open-air markets of local products  

These are all expressions of Campagna Amica’s strategy, with which Coldiretti intends to interpret the Agriculture of the Third Millennium, published under the auspices of the most recent EU provisions, and to highlight the multifunctional role of the agricultural enterprise, endorsed at a national level through the law for orientation and modernization of the sector, issued in 2001. 

Campagna Amica Cuneo finds expression through :

Terranostra (Our Land)- The association for farm tourism and the environment (Associazione per l’Agriturismo e l’Ambiente) “Terranostra”, recognized by the Ministry of the Environment as an environmental promotion association, supports and publicizes farm tourism activities and the enhancement of the rural areas.

Fattoria Amica (Friendly Farm)- System of direct sales inaugurated with the goal of building confidence in farm products and developing action to support the rural territory and its production through direct sales of its agricultural products.

 Campagna Amica Education - National project which grew out of the need to create a direct contact with the consumers, allowing them to discover a sustainable life-style which includes integration between urban and rural realities. The intention of the project is to contribute to the formation of consumers’ tastes, allowing them, through repeated moments of direct experience, to discover and understand the agricultural world in all of its different aspects : quality production, the safeguarding and protection of the land, and  the promotion of its unique characteristics.
